Editorial Policies & Publication Ethics

1. Publication Ethics (COPE Standards)

The Editorial Board of Physical Mesomechanics adheres to the core ethical guidelines defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We require adherence to ethical research and publication practices from all parties: authors, peer reviewers, and editors.

Fundamental standards include:

  • Originality: All submitted works must be original and free from plagiarism or text recycling.
  • Data Integrity: Fabricating or falsifying experimental, analytical, or computational data is strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship Integrity: All listed authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions according to the CRediT taxonomy. Honorary or ghost authorship is not permitted.
  • Concurrent Submissions: Multiple or simultaneous submissions of the same research to multiple venues are prohibited.

2. Peer-Review Process

All manuscripts are subject to single-blind peer review by at least two independent expert reviewers selected for their domain knowledge in materials science and physical mesomechanics.

  1. Initial Technical Screening: The editorial office verifies scope compliance, formatting, language quality, and completeness of mandatory documentation.
  2. Expert Evaluation: Assigned reviewers analyze theoretical consistency, experimental reproducibility, novelty, and presentation quality within 14 days.
  3. Editorial Decision: The Editor-in-Chief renders a final decision based on reviewer evaluations (Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject).

3. Open Access Policy (CC BY 4.0)

Physical Mesomechanics provides immediate open access to its research content on the principle that making scientific findings freely accessible to the global community advances knowledge and technical progress.

All published articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles without prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided the original work is properly cited.

4. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Authors must declare any financial, commercial, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as biasing or influencing their research. Reviewers must recuse themselves from evaluating manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.
